Prayer app for kids, how families can pray together
· 3 min read
What parents can look for in a prayer app for kids, how to use The Pray App with your children at bedtime, and how answered prayers can build their faith.

A prayer app for kids should help children learn to pray, not just keep them busy on a screen. The Pray App isn’t a kids’ game app. It’s a simple family prayer list, rated 4+, that a parent can use together with their kids: one prayer card at a time, a Bible verse on each, and a record of how God answers.
Is there a prayer app for kids?
The Pray App is rated 4+ on the App Store and works well as a family prayer app, used by a parent together with their kids. It has no games, cartoons, or rewards. Instead, it holds the people your family prays for as prayer cards, shows one at a time with a Bible verse, and keeps a record of answered prayers your kids can look back on. Kids use it with a parent, on the parent’s phone.
What should parents look for in a prayer app for kids?
Parents can look for a few things in a prayer app their kids will use:
- No ads, and nothing your kids can buy by accident.
- No chat or strangers. No public profiles or messages from people they don’t know.
- Scripture at the center, so kids learn God’s Word as they pray.
- Simple screens a child can follow with you.
- A record of answers, so kids see God’s faithfulness over time.
The Pray App has no ads, no chat, and no public profiles. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children without parental consent, which is why it’s meant to be used with a parent.
Why teach kids to pray with real people and real needs?
Kids learn to pray best when their prayers are about people they know: Grandma’s surgery, a friend at school, a family member who doesn’t know Jesus. Jesus welcomed children, “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them” (Mark 10:14, ESV), and He cared about real needs. A family prayer list teaches kids that God hears them and cares about the people they love.
How do you use The Pray App with your kids?
Using The Pray App with your kids can be part of your bedtime routine:
- Make cards together. On Home, tap New prayer card and let your child choose who to pray for. Write a short prayer in their words.
- Pick a verse. Under Details, tap Bible verse and choose one of the Suggested verses together.
- Pray at bedtime. Tap Start praying on Today and go through the cards one at a time. Let your child read the verse or pray a sentence.
- Mark answers together. When God answers, tap Answered and write how, in your child’s words.
One card at a time keeps prayer simple for kids.
Set cards for close family to Daily and others to Weekly, so bedtime prayers stay short.
How do answered prayers build a child’s faith?
Answered prayers give kids something to remember. God told Israel to set up stones by the Jordan so that “when your children ask in time to come, ‘What do those stones mean to you?’” they could tell what He had done (Joshua 4:6-7, ESV). In The Pray App, answered prayers move to Stones of Remembrance in Journey, with the note you wrote and the date. Read them with your kids.
Is The Pray App right for your family?
The Pray App fits families who want to pray together for real people and needs, with a Bible verse on each prayer, on a parent’s iPhone. It isn’t a kids’ app with games, songs, stories, or rewards, and kids shouldn’t use it on their own. The Pray App is free on the App Store, with no ads. See how to pray through today’s cards.
